GUNSLINGER (2009) - installation detail
A collaborative sound piece made with artist Dean Brannagan, shown as part of SITU, a site specific project held at Tattershall Church in September 2009. The work consisted of the sound of sporadic gunshots played out through the church’s own sound system. These were slowed down in stages and gradually became more abstracted, to the point of being indistinguishable from what could be a rumble of thunder. Weaving the violence of a bullet into into allusions to the 'wrath of God', as illustrated in religious representation from biblical painting to Hollywood films, the work attempted to generate a multiplicity of associations.
